Overall Satisfaction with BlueJeans Events

We used BlueJeans events to host lecture and review sessions. The business problem it addresses is how to keep 200+ students engaged on a daily basis in the era of online learning. We utilized events 3-4 times per week and had 200-250 attendees at a time.

  • Easier engagement from Teaching Assistants
The page loads quickly when attending a meeting. For the audience, it is typically a quick and seamless load into the waiting room, and then presentation and event materials load quickly when the event begins. For hosts or moderators, the loading is a bit slower when it comes to loading the Q&A and polling features, but not slow enough to impede productivity. I do not have personal experience with generating reports.
Blue Jeans events are typically on par or exceed the competition. Teams and Zoom edge it out slightly in terms of call and audio quality, and Webex is about the same. However, Events beats Teams and Zoom in terms of ability to handle large-scale audience participation and even edges out Webex events in terms of ease of use. Blue Jeans events are also the easiest to use in terms of scheduling.

BlueJeans events was an excellent tool to be used for online learning. Our specific use case involved lectures of 200+ students that were attended 3 days per week, as well as 1 review session per week. The easy scheduling and implementation with the Canvas LMS (Learning Management System) made it easy to use for hosts and listeners. The Q&A and poll features were a great way to boost engagement for students. The moderator tools were easy to use and gave Teaching Assistants the ability to work with the audience while the professor could focus on teaching.
