Overall Satisfaction with BrightGauge

At our company, we use BrightGauge across the entire organization for displays of personal and company-wide metrics. Individual metrics are displayed on user computers and company metrics are displayed on televisions in the office. We also use BrightGauge for some reporting, but primarily the product is used for gauges. This allows everyone to quickly and at a glace be aware of issues that need to be addressed without spending time reviewing other management tools.
  • Gauges are intuitive.
  • Design gauges has a small learning curve.
  • Dashboards can be created and shared with users easily.
  • Support quality has decreased since BrightGauge was acquired by Continuum then ConnectWise.
  • It would be helpful to be able to change multiple similar gauges at one time, as opposed to individually.
  • Reporting system could be improved. At the moment, I am not comfortable scheduling reports to be sent to customers.
They only other product we have used in the past for gauges was ConnectSMART. BrightGauge was preferred as it is a more modern, browser-based solution. When we left ConnectSMART, it used individual executable files for each gauge that had to be run on the computers. Configuration of BrightGauge as also much easier.
Data source connectivity for ConnectWise works well, but takes some time and effort to configure. I would recommend that someone on staff have SQL knowledge to help with the configuration. BrightGauge documentation is good, but support is email only, so the support process can take a bit longer than you may prefer.
Sharing is done well in BrightGauge. You can quickly and easily create dashboards and assign them to individual users. It would be useful if more granular permissions were available. If you are not careful it is easy to share data on other customers that shouldn't be shared when creating client-facing dashboards.
Slack, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), Microsoft Teams
If you are looking for a product to display metrics for a customer relationship and ticketing system (in my case, ConnectWise), BrightGauge does this well. It may be most appropriate for companies that have SQL experts on staff, as support is less likely to help to add custom sources as compared to what was offered in the past.
