Overall Satisfaction with Buzzsumo

Buzzsumo is being used on my marketing blog WeeklyGrowth and for some clients. It has been used primarily to find popular content ideas that have been heavily shared, share content on social media to keep our accounts active and find influencers to amplify our content.

It is being used across the whole organization since it's a marketing consulting agency. It helps a lot with our own and our clients' content marketing efforts, amplifying our content and identifying influencers.
  • Identifying popular content & finding content ideas.
  • Identifying influencers to further amplify your content.
  • Finding content suitable to get backlinks.
  • Although I think it's hard, I'd like to see it being used for other mediums as well such as Twitch, etc.
  • It could have better backlink data to include more backlinks that each content piece has.
  • One or two more pricing tiers might work.
  • It has helped us consistently get over 20 shares per content piece.
  • It has helped us consistently generate new content ideas.
  • It has helped us find more than 10 influencers per industry or content piece.
I have found Buzzsumo to be great regarding its social aspect (finding influencers, popular content and getting shares), but in order to reach out to influencers you need to use other tools.

Also, Buzzsumo can be used to find socially popular content but other tools might be better suitable to find linkable content and backlinks.
I have only once used the support of Buzzsumo but they were really fast to respond and helpful.

Generally speaking the tool and UI/UX is pretty self-explanatory.

Buzzsumo is ideal to help you not only overcome your writer's block and find content ideas to write about, but also find content ideas that have proven to be popular. That way you know you are writing about something that people care about.

Also, once you write that content piece you can find influencers and reach out to them in order to share your content.

It can be good to find content that gets backlinks, but you might want to combine it with an SEO tool in order to get more backlink data.
