Overall Satisfaction with Canopy

We use Canopy as a client database to keep virtual files. This enables us to work remotely. Over time we have expanded our use to include resolution, transcripts, notices. Virtually everything except practice management.
  • Good file management
  • The portal system works well, even for tech challenged clients
  • The client survey is a fast, painless way to prepare financial statements.
  • The transcript system is down more than it's up
  • The portal can be daunting for some users
  • It is difficult to interface with joint returns
  • The cost-benefit ratio is rapidly becoming negative as more functions are added that don't seem to work very well.
Pit Bull

IRS Solutions
It is well suited for the small office that needs remote access.

It wouldn't work well for a solo practitioner.

Over time it's performance has degraded to the point where we are actively seeking alternatives to some of the modules.
