Overall Satisfaction with Canto

We use Canto within the school where I am currently employed. Within the school, there are 12 different departments housing over 100 faculty members and 75 staff members. Using Canto we can deploy as well as update video and Lucian high-resolution images. Having our information in Canto allows us to tag the contents with metadata. This allows our team members to search for specific content anytime, day or night. We were able to deliver content that used to take a week to get to an individual in a matter of seconds. We're also centralizing all of our digital content within Canto so that we can share this with other groups within the University as well as with outside marketing teams.

Most of the data asset management systems do very similar functions. Where Canto is different is the interface and its simplicity (but also its sophistication). The interface is straightforward and easy to use but behind the scenes is a compelling system. Canto offers several features that some of its competitors offer only at additional cost. Canto also provided an extremely well-structured training program for deployment as well as after-deployment support.
Canto is a good product, but like all products there's always room for improvement.
When I was looking at different data asset management systems, I called all the technical support. Canto was one of the few companies that actually had a human being answer the phone. In addition to that simple test, after we deployed our products, we did need some additional support, and Canto was there to meet that challenge.

We had a previous dean from our school pass away over a weekend. Our social media team had to post the information and provide images of our past dean. Because we had all of our contents in Canto and metadata embedded in the content, we were able to deploy within 30 minutes of receiving notice. This is one of many examples of how we could reduce the time that we were able to release content. Also, a lot of our faculty members will be developing grant submissions on evenings and weekends. In the past, they would have to send a request for images and videos and wait sometimes a week to two weeks for this content. Now that all team members have access to the Canto system, they can search the system and find their content in a matter of minutes.
