Overall Satisfaction with CDK Elead

CDK Elead is the auto group's CRM. I use it to manage and market our customer base. I can send email blasts to the whole customer base or target niched-down markets. I can target people that haven't been in service for six months, a year, or never. I can win back market share in service, part, and new or used car departments. I can also keep the salespeople accountable on their own customer base, so they are productive and not just sitting at their desks and playing on their phones. I can keep track of who is coming due on their lease and establish contact with them way before another dealer may try to steal them away.

The reporting it offers is amazing. I can do my monthly reporting and see which lead sources brought in the most leads and which brought in the least amount of leads. This way, I can cut ad spending on the least productive sources and save the dealership a ton of cash. I can also see the BDC results across all the stores and see which department needs more training. This way, all employees from sales, BDC, and service can be much more productive.

In CDK Elead, I can search people who were looking for a specific vehicle. If we have a vehicle that comes in and is hard to sell (for some strange color or reason), I can search our database and find between 50-200 customers to sell that vehicle to, reducing our costs of having a low turnover. I can also search and create a list to sell services to customers who have bought a car from us but never serviced with us. For events at the dealership, I can email our whole customer base and send invitations to everyone.

Once, we had a vendor who kept telling us about all the cars they were selling for us. When I was doing the monthly reporting, I found that the company was selling no cars for us, and all the traffic they were driving was spending little time on site, causing a high bounce rate and selling zero cars for us. I was able to prove that they were selling no cars, so we were not going to pay them. It saved our dealerships over $34,000—a significant amount of money. CDK Elead does, will, and can pay for itself many times over. Get it - you won't be sorry.
