Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce
We use Dayforce across our entire organization. We use it for payroll, benefits, timekeeping, performance reviews, reporting, recruiting, and self-service. The biggest problem Dayforce addressed was giving our teammates the resources they needed to do their jobs more quickly and efficiently. Before Dayforce, we were almost entirely paper-based, and it weighed down our department. Instead of a smooth onboarding process, teammates were given a five-inch binder with policies and health plans to review. They were required to submit paper enrollment forms that we: 1. reviewed for completeness, 2. submitted to payroll for manually updating deductions, and 3. notified all of our carriers individually. Now the teammate completes the enrollment through Dayforce, eliminating those three steps easily! We also had paper forms for pay increases that were mailed/scanned to at least five people for review before getting manually entered into the system. Not to mention, it created quite a large margin for error in losing paper, missing the email, and delaying the process. Now it's easily managed in Dayforce! Dayforce is completely customizable for the needs of your business and helps support business changes quickly and effectively.
- A customizable platform for your business!
- It's a great network of customers to connect with -- I cannot stress this enough! There's a portal specifically designed for customers to interact with each other that is amazing (XOXO). There are user groups for monthly catch-up calls and meet-ups of customers to learn more about upcoming product upgrades or deep dives of how one customer is using a module. There are testing programs for releases that give customers early access to test a new feature before it goes live, and an annual conference to learn more about upcoming features, modules, and more!
- The customer support team is also great! Are they experts on every piece of the product? No. As you learn more, you'll start to understand when to go to support, when to go to an outside consulting firm, and when to ask another customer. It takes time, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the dedicated support team. If you say something is urgent, expect a call in thirty minutes!
- If you don't have an HRIS analyst already on staff, you will have a really hard time implementing and just understanding the general flow of how an integrative system like this works. It took us about a year.
- If you don't have an HRIS analyst on staff, get yourself more than just the implementation team provided by Dayforce. They're called consultants, but they aren't very consultative. If you ask for x, they will give you x, without mentioning that because of y it won't work. They won't encourage you to take a step back and really understand the goal of a process before jumping into the execution stage
- Everything costs $$$. If you need more than your average question answered from support, it will cost you! Need a change to your carrier connection? Think $2K.
- We saved over 200 hours through Open Enrollment alone!
- Our payroll process has been cut down by 40%.
- Our teammates have better access to their own information!
We have automated just about everything from state withholdings, to overtime (even in CA!), healthcare eligibility. Dayforce has features that create your VET-4212 and EEOC reports for you!
This has truly streamlined our ability to better understand and see the impact of policy changes. It makes it easier to do an impact study by applying the change in our Test environment and then reviewing the differences in production. This also means that everything you touch has a ripple-effect! It takes some getting used to and has caused some serious anxiety in our first-month post-go-live, but it's a truly incredible feature!
The integrative system can be overwhelming at first because it can feel like playing catch up. For example, you might have a negative impact from a change that you hadn't anticipated happening, and it can take time to understand what went wrong and how to fix it. However, it truly grooms your team for understanding the big picture.
