Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

We have been using Dayforce for our HR and Payroll functions across the organization. It helps us streamlining our Time & Attendance process (i.e. manager can approve timesheet via mobile, etc.). However, we would like to have more functions can be done via mobile app to support staff spending most of their time off-site.
  • Cloud-based application. It supports staff work virtually.
  • It is a HR and Payroll system. It also means less 1 user name & password for user to remember.
  • Dayforce has been gone through a bunch of enhancements (compensation module, analytics, etc.).
  • We wish Dayforce would pay more attention to the need of government/not-for-profit sectors. For example, salary increase (in compensation module) can be managed/approved by compensation admin, instead of the hiring managers. We follow union agreements/policies.
  • In the People menu, please have the Employee preferred name available in the search box.
  • Please make some of the system admin settings available in HTML platform (currently only in SilverLight).
  • Reduce paper-based records.
  • More meaningful reports (headcount, payroll registers, entitlement, etc.).
  • Cloud-based application means employee can log-in anywhere.
Dayforce allow us automate compliance with:
  • Labour union and provincal employment rules (break, statutory holidays, overtime, etc.)
  • Benefit eligibility (benefit costs, rules, etc.)
  • Our own organization policies
  • Imcome tax deduction, garnishment
HR admin/hiring manager could be able to view the entire work history of an employee from the day he/she was a candidate to current employment. The hiring manager can easily evaluate if the employee is "flight risk" based on performance and salary, thus, can make informative decision. Overall, it helps the organization reducing its employee turnover.
Having Payroll, HR, Time and Attendance are in one single system makes our job smoother. One user name and password, one support centre, and we're able to look up HR/Payroll records in the same system.
Dayforce is a great system for HR and Payroll. It integrates employee records between HR (benefit, wellness, etc.) with Payroll (time and attendance, my pay, etc.). Both HR Admin and Payroll Admin can verify and update employee record accordingly.
Dashboard/Analytics is not a great strength of Ceridian Dayforce system. It currently only supports certain for-profit sectors, not other businesses (every organization's need for KPI's is different).
