Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 2960-L Series Switches

  • Catalyst 2960-L Series
The Catalyst 2960-L Series Switches family are versatile in many ways and they fit just properly in every type of infrastructure, having PoE and GigabitEthernet ports are just an asset for those customers that need an L2 solution that aggregates to other systems for instance IP phones, wireless access points or access control devices.
  • Providing energy for PoE devices saving costs of buying AC power supplies.
  • Ease to configure throught CLI command line.
  • Very cost-effective compare with other vendors or models
  • The web-ui isn't so pratical to configure.
  • New IOS updates to fix some bug would be relevant
  • A possiblity to stack it with other 2960 series
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Suitable for voice and wireless solutions (ip phones and aps)
  • This is just a tank, once configured in production, nothing can crash these switches
Without any doubt, port security and smart PoE are features that had facilitated IT admin's life, also the Spanning tree protocol working with VTP domain just prevents outages in case some user tries to connect a hub in the network.
The Cisco Catalyst 2960L is compatible with DNAC, and once they are integrated is just easy to manage, customize and control software updates that come to the equipment.
