9500 Series Switches in a real environment
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Catalyst 9500 Series
They represent the core of our network, all the communication of our critical services crosses this equipment. The problem that it represents today is that administration becomes complex as we integrate more remote sites with the same technology. Administration via command line becomes an extensive and complex job.

We have been working with Cisco switches for a while now. Our experience with the 9500 series has always been good. They are very stable and powerful switches. All of our critical services are based on a 9500 and we’ve [only] had two breakdowns, this is a good product and fits perfectly for our standards.
Catalyst 9500 Series Switches are very easy to customize but not to manage, you need to have a specialized team to manage this hardware. I wish these switches could be managed centrally and with a web-based dashboard because it is a good product but turns out is not that easy to manage. That would be great to have.
Cisco has a large portfolio and variety of products, especially with switches and routers. Although Cisco has been a leader for this hardware for several years these kinds of things give the customer trust. Cisco has done a good job versus competitor. Cisco's switches are very reliable and stable. Competitors don’t have the same products.
