Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

  • Catalyst 2960 X/XR Series
In our organization, we use the Cisco Catalyst 2960 Switch, which is very easy to repair. Instructions for repairing VLANs and titles are very simple. We are covered with Cisco exchanges and other merchant exchanges and [it] does not give us a problem. It also supports multiple network protocols and security features such as DHCP scanning and port security.
  • Easy to detect switching loops in network.
  • We can configure the device using both CLI and GUI.
  • Initial configuration is easy; there are advanced ways to configuring the device.
  • Provides security features like DHCP Snooping and port security.
  • Device rebooting time is less compared to other devices.
  • Cost of the device is somewhat high.
  • Provides only dynamic routing feature.
  • They’re straightforward to use and repair.
  • No troubleshoot problems.
  • The commands to use are easy to remember.
  • Rock-solid reliability.
The customization and manageability [are] top-notch in Cisco Catalyst Switches. Cisco Catalyst Switches can operate for years without interruption, which is what is said to be their biggest advantage. Because reliability is a much-needed factor in computer networks. And based on my experience, Cisco devices have no problem when working with other vendors. Once the manager knows the CLI, then almost everything is possible to stop and everything can be done in as short a time as possible.
Previously we were using HPE Aruba Ethernet Switches in our organization and we were not satisfied with [the] services of Aruba. I would only recommend buying a Cisco device. They remain stable and work flawlessly without problems. They are also up to date, as Cisco tells to checks for weaknesses on a daily basis and provides patches to keep them safe from attackers.

There are so many scenarios where Cisco Catalyst Switches are well suited like if the switch needs to move multiple frames in the same port, switch the frames directly to the memory, sending them one at a time, thus avoiding collisions. Selecting specific endpoints prevents Ethernet collisions from happening. The switch is very secure, as it makes any hole directly in contact with any other port. The cost of the number of ports is relatively high.
