Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

  • Catalyst 2960 X/XR Series
  • Catalyst 3560-CX Series
  • Catalyst 3650 Series
We have used Cisco L2 and L3 switches in our organization in the past. I found them to be easy to set up and use. I also like that the switches are long lasting and perform reliably. Some of the models also have POE, which can power other network devices like access points, etc.
  • Reliability in performance.
  • Good warranty period update from Cisco to be competitive against other brands.
  • Good customer support and helpful community forums in some cases.
  • Some of the switches are somewhat expensive.
  • Although the switches are reliable, occasional failures related to components occur.
  • The modules can be a bit expensive compared to third-party brands.
  • Updated warranty terms have a positive impact on our ROI.
We like that some of the models like the 3650 series support stacking. There are also many software apps to configure and make changes in the switches. There is a sufficient number of models to choose from depending on the requirements of POE, modules support, etc. The switches are also easy to manage in most cases.
Cisco Catalyst Switches have more features than D-Link Ethernet Switches in most cases. But D-Link Ethernet Switches are very reliable and sometimes even more than Cisco switches.

Yes

Cisco Catalyst Switches are well suited for organizations looking for reliable IT network switches and good customer support and helpful community forums for some of the common problems faced while using/setting up the product. Although the Cisco name is one of the most popular brands in switches and routers, some models can be a bit expensive.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Working from anywhere (e.g., coffee shop, airport)
  • Working from an office or other company space
  • Working from home
We have deployed Cisco VPN solution to connect office users even when they are not in office. They can easily use it to connect to office network and use emails(outlook), access the server data etc. We have used Cisco ASA for connecting users to the office network to ensure utmost security for our network.
We did not face any organizational challenges in this process as the setup was simple to use for everyone in the office. This process for ensuring that hybrid work can also be done was simple and straightforward without much of learning curve. SO, all in all, this process was beneficial for all our employees who were working from home due to Covid lockdown.
Cisco's hybrid work solutions helped a great deal for our employees to connect with our office network and do all the required tasks without any issues. Cisco's solutions provided seasmless reliable connectivity to our work from home employees.
We never experienced any issues or problems while using Cisco hybrid solutions as they provided excellent connectivity and hardware relaibility(especially the Cisco ASA firewall) throughout our period of hybrid work model of working.
We have not used any other OEM till now for hybrid work. We chose Cisco to support our hybrid work as Cisco products are very durable and reliable.
