Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches

  • Catalyst 3560-CX Series
  • Catalyst 3650 Series
  • Catalyst 3850 Series
We use Cisco Catalyst Switches everywhere from basic office access switches to branch layer three switches, in both stacked and individual configurations.
  • Performance
  • Reliability
  • Efficient
  • Licensing
  • Cost
  • Availability
  • Our uptime is over 99%
  • Redundancy is easy
We do some pretty complicated routing and the C3850 line handles those configs with ease.
Ubiquiti switches are easier to configure and, in my experience, just as reliable.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Webex Meetings
  • Webex App
  • Cisco AnyConnect
  • Cisco Umbrella
  • Cisco Secure Endpoint
  • Working from anywhere (e.g., coffee shop, airport)
Fully deployed.

Set it up correctly the first time in preparation for it to be permamanent.
Accountability. Managers have to learn how to manage people remotely. Giving them the tools to do so securely is our job.
Better employee retention. Being flexible to employee wants and needs regarding work from home has been key to staying staffed.
End users have to understand that the IT department can't fix remote internet issues. When working remotely, the first component that needs addressed is the connection.
When configured properly, they just work seamlessly.

Evaluating Cisco Catalyst Switches and Competitors

I'd look at other solutions fairly. It's hard when you're already so invested in one vendor though.
