Overall Satisfaction with Cisco DNA Center
We use it across our organizations, we have many different models of Cisco switches and routers that are difficult to monitor and manage. We tried alternative 3rd party options but finally tried DNA Center and it has made life much easier! We need to upgrade all of our equipment to fully utilize the DNA Center capabilities. It gives us some great automation options and monitoring options, it is integrated well since it is the Cisco standard.
- Ease of automation and configuration templates make the future you very glad you did it!
- The PnP for switches that allow to boot up and contact the network with a pre-configuration is so amazing. Makes life easy!
- Integrates well with our ISE platform, they have really made it well worth the cost to have everything with the name CISCO on your equipment. All of their devices work so well with this software.
- Sometimes it is difficult to find help with specific issues, more documentation and support portals are needed.
- If the overall cost of support/maintenance could be more affordable this would be great.
- I wish this could be a virtual appliance but for now you need the appliance hardware, as with many similar Cisco items.
- The PnP functionality makes life very easy for the "future you"
- All the benefits of SD-Access, this helps utilize it's full capability.
- Dashboard/user interface is a fantastic tool for all levels of IT support to view your environment and provide support or overview.
- Initial cost is pricy, but management needs to understand the value this provides so make them aware
- Reporting could be improved in more detail in our opinion, but it gives a great overview of your environment. High level overview for managers would be greatly appreciated with as little or much detail as needed for certain Cisco gear.
- Does not work as well with some older Cisco equipment because they want you to buy new, again the cost impact comes into play.
Cisco is still the top of its class in switching/routing even with an increase in competition over the years. Support is great but more documentation is needed so we can find information for ourselves and not always open a TAC case.
