Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Firepower 1000 Series
Our Cisco Firepower device is being used by the Information Technology department, but it controls users' activity for the whole organization. We use it as a security device to manage users' access, control access policies, log security events, for intrusion prevention and intrusion detection purposes with Firepower Management Center, and to protect the internal network from outside threats and unauthorized access.
- Intrusion prevention and intrusion detection purposes with Firepower Management Center.
- Protect the internal network from outside threats and unauthorized access.
- Provide option to generate reports based on events log
- Licenses are expensive to renew
- Limitations and performance issues with current versions
- Complex configuration and management process
- Expensive to maintain yearly services for separate licenses
- Initial cost is very high
- Provide best in class security
It is easy to manage and configure if someone starts from scratch, but when it's a case of migration, especially complex network topology or configuration then it's a nightmare for network admins. Good thing is, Cisco has a very good line of customer support and highly trained TAC Eng. They will handle cases very professionally to resolve issues.
In terms of cost-effectiveness, Cisco gives the same or better service at a lower cost compared to Palo Alto devices. There are other products in the market with similar protection services and even lower cost but customer service is not as good as Cisco. So, it is a combined service that makes Cisco number 1.
