Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series

Overall Satisfaction with Cisco IP Phones

We use the Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series for mobile and remote access so people can use their Cisco desk phones at home. It's being used across several departments in the organization and is our standard for general purpose.
  • Can be registered over the Internet using MRA or Webex.
  • It is cheap!
  • It is very simple to use.
  • Display is monochrome and small in most of the models.
  • This is a cheap phone compared with other Cisco models so, for us, it was a no brainer to go with them.
We compared it to our 8945 models and we selected the 7800 Series because of their remote connectivity feature (MRA/Webex) for employees working from home.
TAC Support for this phone is spot on, we did not have many problems but they were all resolved.

Although the basic 7841 is monochrome and the display is small, there are some bigger displays in the higher models. Overall, this phone is an all-rounder, it does it all and the quality is quite good and the best selling point is that is cheap. If you are planning to deploy Cisco IP Phones but the budget you have is not big and you can live with not having a colored display, consider this series, as it's great. I wouldn't use this model for managers, executives, etc.
