Overall Satisfaction with Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series

I use a Cisco 8865 for my regular work and I support this and other models like 8831 and 8851 in my organisation. These devices have replaced the 797X models in most of our offices.
  • Phone calls.
  • Video calls.
  • Conference.
  • Not easy to use large speed dials.
  • Cost.
  • Easy to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Options for different businesses and needs, e.g. 8831, 8851 and 8865.
This greatly improves interaction with customers and co-workers as it does not demand a lot of shared resources, as when using soft phones.
I have never had to open a TAC at Cisco related to issues with this phone model. I consider firmware updates with satisfactory frequencies to prevent and mitigate vulnerability threats.

Do you think Cisco IP Phones delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco IP Phones's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco IP Phones live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco IP Phones go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco IP Phones again?

Yes

I'd recommend the conference phone 8831 for large rooms with more than 10 sits. For home workers I'd strongly recommend using the Cisco 8865 instead of 9971 devices. My only criticism about the 8865 models is the characters switch from alpha to numeric when entering login credentials. They are not intuitive.
