Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Jabber
We use Cisco Jabber for chat and internal calling. It allows us to communicate faster than email and ensure coworkers are available before reaching out to them. Our IT used it for trouble shooting and sharing the desktop, which is very convenient for most users working remotely. It also allows us to use it on mobile devices so you are not tied to the desktop computer.
- It has a new modern design and has come a long way from the older interface
- The persistent chat works well for sharing files
- It works well on a mobile device
- The application crashed on the desktop frequently
- When using web conferencing through it the video can become choppy
- There is a learning curve for someone who has never used it before, its not very intuitive
- The negative impact is when the application crashes in the middle of an important business meeting. When you are in the middle of a sales negotiation it becomes an issue.
I feel Cisco Jabber is behind the eight-ball a bit when it comes to their software. Until you use a more sophisticated product, you most likely won't notice, but there are many more options out there that accomplish tasks better. Most other platforms I've used do not have voice degradation issues or stability issues. In my opinion, you know its bad when clients ask to use their platform instead of yours.
