Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR

Cisco Meraki MR is being used by the entire firm as its sole solution for wireless access, for employees as well as guests. Meraki MR benefits Wendel in that the hardware itself is very low profile and non-intrusive, completely silent, a single wire device not requiring a separate power source, and very easy to administer. The back end can be addressed very simply or one can choose to customize things to great depth.
  • Very quick and easy for user’s devices to recognize and connect to.
  • Security is highly effective.
  • Very easy for administrators to manipulate the device itself, as well as control what users are doing or if they are allowed to connect at all.
  • There needs to be an easier way to see which devices are being heavier used, so as to determine needed adjustments.
  • It would be good to have more in-depth access to what locations connected devices are navigating to.
  • Cost. These devices could be a little more competitive if the cost were lower. Meraki prices itself out of some sales.
  • Reliability of the hardware. Downtime is detrimental to the business.
  • Small form factor and minimal wiring. It is nice that these devices are easy to place and do not require a separate power supply nearby.
  • Robust functionality. It is unusual for a Meraki device to not be operating - that is a good thing.
  • Thus far the impact has been positive as our Wi-Fi network is stable and this is good for our clientele.
  • Being able to administer the devices from anywhere and Internet connection is available is a plus for administrators.
  • We have not felt the need to be constantly updating our Meraki equipment unlike some other brands.
The firm tried to use ASUS hardware in the past. The hardware was not as easy to administer remotely. The administration interface was complicated to access and complicated to navigate. The ASUS hardware’s stability and functionality was not as good as Meraki equipment. It also proved to be an eyesore that clients would comment on sometimes.

Do you think Cisco Meraki MR delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Cisco Meraki MR's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Meraki MR live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Meraki MR go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Meraki MR again?

Yes

A Cisco Meraki MR is well-suited for highly visible locations where a device needs to be suddenly integrated and not drawing attention to itself. It may not be so well-suited to environments where in depth monitoring of traffic to specific destinations needs to be quickly determined and throttled on an as needed basis, such as in a conference environment.
