Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN

Meraki SD-WAN is our main is our main communications method between all our physical locations worldwide.
  • Creating and managing the tunnels
  • Observability. We can see all our circuits as well as location based connectivity issues
  • Troubleshooting. Missing some command line access to look at specific parameters or status.
  • Access management. Role based security needs to be enhanced and be more granular.
  • Executive dashboards, KPI tracking, etc. natively in the Meraki dashboards.
  • Core networking access, features, protocols. We're still waiting for BGP!

  • Quick ramp up of new sites.
  • Licensing costs are higher than a regular Cisco device.
Replacing our AT&T managed MPLS environment with Meraki SD-WAN was super easy and quick! Bringing new sites online is a trivial process.
These products help further secure our network and allow our customers to have a favorable experience on our networks.
It just all works. So far, we have yet to run into an issue where we couldn't expand or grow due to the Meraki solution.
The Meraki solution is far easier to use.
The Meraki SD-WAN solution is great for small to medium sized businesses that don't have a lot of networking talent in house. As well as for companies that do not have large requirements for things like ACI, etc.

On the flipside, because it is so easy to setup and use, companies can fall victim to the belief that you do not need skilled network staff. Where Meraki makes it easy to setup and use, lacking experience in networking will eventually cause design or performance issues in mid to large size networks.
