Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus

We use Cisco Nexus as [...] distribution, aggregation, and core switches. We use these switches across the globe in our pop to connect our inline devices. This helps us to manage our internal core infrastructure as we as build our cloud infrastructure. These switches provide us [with] high availability and redundant infrastructure for our core devices. Cisco Nexus [is] easy to build, manage, and implement. We get nice and quick support [from] Cisco.
  • Provide redundant infrastructure
  • Give us more port count
  • Easy to implement and manage
  • Option to increase port density using flex modules
  • GUI interface to manage
  • Virtual chassis capability
  • VPC
  • Port channel
  • 40G
  • More port density saves cost for multiple switches
  • Multiple capability of ports saves buying multiple switches for different purpose
  • Multiple options / models as per requirement
Cisco has better support than Juniper. Cisco techs/engineers are more available in [the] market than Juniper. Cisco has better documentation available on google/online platforms than Juniper or other vendors in [the] networking domain. Cisco has popular certifications in these terms, which inspires engineers to take exams and prove their ability. Cisco Nexus has different models which can scale our requirements.

[It's] most suitable in [a] data center environment. You can also use [it] to connect servers to get high availability uplinks. Bundle links (port channels) to get more bandwidth for connected devices. Use different models for 1G, 10G, 40G requirements. Split 40G ports into 10G ports in some cases. You can also use as access layer switches as well as distribution layer switches.
