Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Routers

  • Cisco ASR 1000 Series
ISR routers are used as intra-area edge routers for our 3 major campuses as well as our HA edge routers to the internet.

Pros

  • Intra area routing
  • HA redundant internet edge

Cons

  • No areas of improvement that have a need for our use
  • 100% uptime for internet connectivity (no outages attributable to Cisco ASR)
We are 100% Cisco for network infrastructure. Exceptions are ipam, f5 and Palo alto firewalls.
We do not use Cisco for Internet edge security.
I have had no experience with other brands of routers, but am completely satisfied with the Cisco line of routers.
