Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Umbrella
We are using Cisco Umbrella for DNS Security and URL filtering. Our entire organization uses DNS forwarded to Cisco Umbrella. Our mobile users use the Cisco Umbrella profile loaded into the Cisco Secure Mobility Client to protect both inside and outside the firewall. Cisco Umbrella adds another layer of security to our multi-layered setup at an affordable price.
- The up-time has been excellent so far.
- The Umbrella profile loads right into our Cisco Secure Mobility Client setup.
- The Active Directory implementation is convoluted and complicated.
- Would like to be able to create a rule (block or allow) directly from the reporting pages.
- Umbrella adds a significant layer of security at an affordable price.
- Although affordable, the cost is not insignificant, so it also adds another layer of cost to our security budget.
We were using the Barracuda Networks Web Filtering appliance for a portion of this use case, and at one time, we were using both Umbrella and Barracuda Web Filter. We let the Barracuda support expire due to issues between Barracuda Support and Sales, and have since been using only the Umbrella service. The Barracuda was much easier to configure for use with Active Directory, but Umbrella seems to provide a better overall layer of protection.
