Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Webex Calling

At CompuCom, we have technicians spread out at General Electric sites around the country. We use Webex to conduct weekly meetings with our management team and also training sessions. Additionally, other groups across the company use Webex for various reasons. As our company's business model is very distributed, Webex allows management to keep in contact with employees.
  • Allows for quick, ad hoc meetings
  • Easy to use interface
  • Low overhead (doesn't require an installation, will run in browser)
  • The audio/video settings can be confusing at times, especially once the meeting has already started
  • The screen sharing feature could use some work
  • Meetings start by default with all other participants microphones activated
  • It has allowed collaboration between geographically teammates
  • It can be used within a browser thereby preventing the need to install software on customer PCs
  • For the most part, it is very intuitive and easy to use
I have never had an interaction with the Cisco WebEx Calling support team. As I said before, the software interface is intuitive and easy to use. This has gone far in preventing the need for customer support.

Do you think Webex Calling delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Webex Calling's feature set?

Yes

Did Webex Calling live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Webex Calling go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Webex Calling again?

Yes

Honestly, I prefer Webex over Skype calling. In my experience, the Skype calls have significant issues with joining/maintaining connections between meeting members. Additionally, the feature set of Skype can be clunky and hard to use. The only real positive of Skype over Webex is its integration with Exchange (ease of sending meeting invites), however a WebEx plugin exists that can give this feature to Webex.
Cisco WebEx is useful to any organization but it is particularly well suited to organizations with workforces that are distributed over a wide geographical or operational area. This software gives teams the ability to stay in contact and share critical material while in remote locations. I can't think of an instance where it would be less appropriate, in my opinion it would work well for any organization.
