Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have been using [Cisco] Webex Meetings for over 10 years for online interactive language teaching (English, Spanish and Portuguese) . We use the platform to give online individual classes to students, not only in Peru but also abroad. The classes are individual classes for single students with their dedicated teacher. We currently have around 60 teachers using Webex meetings exclusively for teaching their classes. Additionally we use Webex Meetings for any administration or management meetings between our team of around 10 staff.

Pros and Cons

Interactive student participation with Annotation tools
Ability to save slides as PDFs (with annotations included)
Pleasing and logical layout and appearance
Ability to share embedded multimedia in slides with UCF format
Excelent quality audio and video

Ability for administrators to enter meetings / classes anonymously and invisibly to observe classes.
Improve visual compatibility with document sharing (PDF and PPT can look different between host and attendee)
Reinstatement of UCF (or similar) format.

Return on Investment

Without [Cisco] Webex Meetings our business would cease to exist (due to the shutdown and restrictions here in Peru)

Alternatives Considered

Zoom, Google Classroom, WizIQ LMS and Adobe Connect

None of them came even close to the functionality and reliability that [Cisco] Webex Meetings gives us.

Very very low outage. Usually very responsive customer supoort agents available by phone.

Performance

The main issue that needs to be resolved is visual consistency when document sharing. It is often the case when sharing a PPT that the attendee sees slight variations or omissions to what the host is seeing. Sharing documents with PDF is particularly problematic

Likelihood to Recommend

Document sharing (rather than screen sharing) needs to be improved so that there can be guaranteed consistency between what the host see and what the attendee sees. At the moment the only way to guarantee this is by using the discontinued UCF format. Screen sharing is nit a viable solution as the annotation toools for the attendees is not available. Apart from that [Cisco] Webex Meetings is reliable and comfortable way to conduct online classes. Ability for users accessing meetings from phones or tablets to be able to use the annoation tools would be useful.
