Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers

Our place of business has been using access points for wireless devices for many years. When we started getting many complaints from users about weak Wi-Fi in certain areas and slow connections even right next to the access points we knew we had a problem. Moving to all Cisco Aironets and a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller completely solved all our issues.
  • Super easy to use, set up, and deploy
  • Great software experience and very few bugs
  • Compatible with many management systems (first- and third-party)
  • It would be nice if they had more versatile mounts included besides the basic metal plate
  • Allow more POE protocols to power them
  • Less confusing license registration system
  • It honestly saves hours in being able to roll out APs so much more quickly due to the Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers' configuration push features
  • It helps centralize all our separate APs, Wi-Fi SSIDs, and WLANs in once place
  • Licensing costs have gone up after switching to Cisco

Do you think Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers again?

Yes

I'm not sure it would be best suited for a company not already using Cisco products, as there is going to be a large initial cost to get up and running. But once you have some required Cisco gear (switches/routers/wireless LAN controller), then you're in business. If you're already using those things then it's a very easy decision.
