Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers

Previously we had saturation and reliability issues with our former Wireless Solution, then we decided to implement a Cisco Virtual Wireless LAN Controller and Access Points and many of these problems went away. Configuration was a little bit tricky. But so far, The Virtual Wireless LAN Controller and Access Points (series 2700 and 2800) are doing their job ok.
  • Load Balancing
  • Reliable Service
  • Coverage
  • Support for new features
  • Hardware support
  • Help and documentation
  • GUI
  • Coverage
  • Support
  • Mesh capability
  • Network availability
  • Scalability
  • Good TCO
Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and Access Points feature a great balance between capabilities and price. It is locally managed (not in the cloud, which suits best to us), and has good technical support. Aruba seemed to be too big for our needs but it is a great solution. Scalability is excellent in the Cisco solution.

Do you think Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers go as expected?

No

Would you buy Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers again?

Yes

If your LAN infrastructure is based on Cisco implementing a Wireless LAN solution would be a no-brainer. Good technical background and Cisco knowledge are a must since the manual, GUI, and help built-in are poor in many cases. CLI setup would be required to do a fine-tune-up. In general, Hardware performs well but there is a lot of room to improve.
