Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud

We used Cision Communications Cloud to distribute press releases via PR Newswire. We also use it as our primary media monitoring service. We are a full service agency, and the platform is primarily used by our Comm's and Content team. It easily allows us to track our clients' mentions in the news (print and broadcast) and create monthly and quarterly reports.

  • Captures the majority of coverage.
  • Compiles reports in a way that's easy for our client to understand.
  • Captures metrics that are quantifiable.
  • Customer service is fantastic!
  • Influencers database is very helpful.
  • Disconnect between Cision and PR Newswire account reps.
  • Inaccurate coverage captured (ie news from other companies that's irrelevant).
  • Not capturing some articles our clients are mentioned in (particularly on major news sites/broadcasts).
  • First and foremost, it helps us show our clients the value PR brings to their business. Cision has really helped one of our clients, who was skeptical about the value of PR, understand it.
  • The metrics that Cision captures (ie UVPM, audience and publicity value) easily help our clients quantify and understand that PR value.
I find Meltwater to be as user-friendly/easy to use as Cision, but the difference is in the number of metrics that Cision is able to capture and quantify (ie audience, UVPM, publicity value, etc). To be fair, I've also only started using Meltwater, but I prefer Cision because of the great reports it's able to generate and the metrics mentioned above.

Cision is fantastic for capturing client coverage and saves me hundreds of hours from manually capturing coverage myself. It's also 100% more accurate than something like free Google alerts alone. Bottom line: our clients like to know when they're in the news, and this platform enables me to not only accurately capture that coverage, but quantify it as well.

We had a problem with the platform capturing inaccurate coverage. Cision was able to set us up with one of their senior programmers, Nick, who helped us solve the issue. He was very friendly and thorough, scheduling a follow-up meeting to ensure that everything was working properly.
