Overall Satisfaction with Cloud Elements
Cloud Elements is the flexible foundation for various cloud integrations inside our product LiveTiles Design. For instance, it powers reading documents from OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, and Dropbox using a single unified integration.
- Maps a single integration to multiple systems, cutting down on the time and complexity to support multiple systems
- Robust and interactive documentation that guides the developer every step of the way
- Responsive and friendly customer success that supports your team's efforts
- When Cloud Elements rolled out their "Admin Console 2.0" it was a rough launch with many bugs
- Cloud Elements has a large variety of integrations, but certain desirable systems (EG, Workday or Xero) are not covered in their catalog
- Providing a truly unified API that returns the same format of data from each system requires writing transforms for each endpoint rather than it being an out-of-the-box feature
- Cloud Elements provided an initial ROI of accelerating delivery on integrations at about 4x speed as we were able to connect to a unified hub rather than building them one-by-one
- On an ongoing basis, Cloud Elements has likely saved us about one developer-worth of effort to extend and maintain our platform's integrations
- Cloud Elements has provided the unique capability for our pre-sales and customer success team to provide one-off demo integrations to customers to win deals and prove ROI to customers
MuleSoft is also a similar product to Cloud Elements, but is not available as an option in this form.
Workato and MuleSoft are competing cloud API connector platforms that perform a similar function to Cloud Elements. We chose Cloud Elements over them because CE provided a more robust path to unifying the behavior of connected systems.
Zapier is a workflow automation tool that I feel draws erroneous comparison to Cloud Elements that I need to highlight. Workflow automation tools (Zapier, IFTTT, Microsoft Flow) do provide multiple integrations, but for simplistic scenarios where only a handful of explicitly described steps need accomplished. Cloud Elements is a platform for developers to deliver faster and with higher reliability than making integrations one-by-one in complex systems that solve demanding problems.
