Overall Satisfaction with Cohesity Helios
Cohesity is used as the backup application across all entities in the group. It replaces a legacy application with a lot of servers—vApps—that does not scale very well. Our application had many bugs and required constant upgrades to fix issues. Unfortunately, these new releases had bugs each time. With Cohesity, it was really easy to deploy the cluster, in a few hours, the first cluster was deployed and ready to take backups.
- Easy to set up in just a few hours.
- Upgrades are done online, you can still do backups and restore when the cluster is upgrading.
- Restores are really easy to perform and fast.
- No support for Windows clustering but this should be released in a few weeks or months.
- No Windows BMR without third-party add-ons.
Overall Satisfaction Continued
- Ease of use decreases the overall work to manage and maintain the product.
- Very reliable so it also decreased the time spent on issues.
Networker: SW, what we were using before Cohesity, was unreliable with lots of bugs. CommVault: Complete product but complicated to put in place and D2D also seems more complicated with a lot of servers to manage.
Rubrik: Very similar to Cohesity DataProtect but it's only a backup tool so it cannot be used for other things like archiving or NAS.
