Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Concur for two main purposes at my company Intuit Inc. They are as following.

Expense Report Submissions: We use Concur Expense to submit expense reports to our manager for reimbursements. I like the fact that this addresses the issue where in we can easily submit said reports and we get a clear audit trail of where the report is in the approval and reimbursement lifecycle. Also we can set custom requirements while adding expenses, one of ours being, that any expense above $75 needs a valid receipt. Any expense below that does not require a receipt, but it is highly encouraged.
Travel: Concur travel is our company's main travel booking portal. We use concur to book flights, hotels and even rental cars. I like the fact that the car rental memberships and frequent flyer memberships for flights are linked to our concur profile.

Pros and Cons

Giving a clear trail of where an expense report is in the approval/reimbursement cycle.
Linking frequent flyer and car rental club memberships, such as Hertz Gold, and ensuring that the membership information is correctly added on each reservation
In the travel portal, I like the way the car rental searches are done, in the sense that it allows me to see results from multiple companies, such as Enterprise/Hertz/Budget, etc when searching in a given area

Duplicate expense report functionality should be present
Sometimes I have notices that car rental search results differ in Concur v/s if done on the partner's own website
UI can be improved in the look and feel. The gray theme can be improved, according to me

Return on Investment

Saved time manually creating and emailing or managers, our expense reports.
One stop shop for booking travel plans, hence saving time.
Saved lots of man hours that would otherwise be wasted in manual checking of duplicate/valid receipts and manually transmitting the funds for reimbursements.

Alternatives Considered

I have not yet used any other expense report software

I am not sure about that, as I am just a end user who uses Concur to submit expense reports and book travel

Concur Travel and Expense is suited in the following cases:

When we want to have a clear and concise way of submitting expenses.
When we want to have a centralized portal where we can book travel itineraries, involving flights/hotels/rental cars.
When receipts are needed.

It is less appropriate when:

With respect to car rentals, You are looking for the best deals and need a wider varierty of partners.
You have a recurring expense that you need to claim every month. In this case Concur does not let you duplicate old expense reports.
