Overall Satisfaction with Copado

The Salesforce team used it for Data and Metadata deployments between Salesforce Instances. The development team will build a package and then run that package through to the second sandbox for testing. From there the Copado package goes to an administration team who move it into our third sandbox for testing, then to a sandbox used for user acceptance training. Finally, the package is deployed by the administration team into production.
  • Metadata Deployments
  • Data Deployments
  • Salesforce CPQ deployments that require a lot of various Data
  • Transferring deployments between teams.
  • In deployment, the Query can be lost when editing, which can cause a lot of problems.
  • The Query option is cumbersome, but it works!
  • The deployment instructions fields could be made into rich text fields which would be awesome.
  • Data Deployments
  • Deployment between teams
  • Metadata Deployments
  • Increased productivity
  • Decreased deployment times
  • Gave our team the ability to hand off a deployment to another team to finish running through sandboxes and into production
Flosum is a downgrade for sure and I do not recommend it. Gearset is an upgrade and my preferred solution. Gearset has simplified the deployment path and makes it very easy to move between Salesforce instances. If there are any difficulties with Gearset they also have the best customer support for any deployment tool I've tried. Overall I'd say Gearset is #1, Copado #2 and Flosum a distant #3.

Yes

Would you buy Copado again?

No

From my experience, Copado is a solid deployment tool. We used the query option for most deployments which is very helpful when moving Salesforce CPQ Data. Storing and reusing queries was the best bet. So long as the query didn't get lost when editing or deleted somehow things worked great. The deployment steps weren't extremely intuitive, and overall it takes a bit to get familiar with, but it is a capable tool for deployments.
