Overall Satisfaction with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite
We use CorelDRAW Graphics Suite within our department mainly in order to produce figures for papers and publications. We often have to adapt figures from other papers to our needs, digitize old poor-quality figures or make our own from scratch.
- Automatic tracing of bitmaps is very powerful and easy to use.
- Drag and drop importing of PDF as vector objects for editing figures saves a lot of time.
- Sometimes Eyedropper and drag and drop colors from one object to another stops functioning and requires restarting.
- The size of arrowheads ends for lines is too limited.
- It allows me to develop a graphically cohesive set of figures that illustrate the main ideas of my research.
- Saves significant time by allowing the importation of vector objects or tracing of old bitmaps.
I'm not a graphic designer and my usage of vector-based graphic editing software is somewhat basic, so I believe CorelDRAW meets all my needs and is much more user-friendly and easier to learn than its main competitor. I also believe that the geometric alignment of objects in CorelDRAW (e.g. mid-point, edge, center) is more suited to my needs than in the alternative.
