Overall Satisfaction with Cornerstone OnDemand

Cornerstone Learning is a very powerful and useful system with what seems like endless possibilities. I particularly love the customer success centre. This resource has been a lifesaver when navigating the new system. I feel Cornerstone does a great job of providing their customers with tons of resources and tools.
  • User experience.
  • Automating compliance requirements.
  • Built-in test function.
  • The back end feels a bit old school, but they are working diligently to make improvements.
  • Improved new hire orientation experience.
  • Streamlined and automated processes, eliminating duplicate tasks by various stakeholder groups.
  • Metrics and reporting.
  • Increased learner engagement.
Cornerstone OnDemand is definitely at the top of my list. I would say that Cornerstone is probably my second or third choice of Learning management systems. However, my opinion may change once we implement our Performance system as the systems will be integrated. I have heard from peers that their performance system and ATS are amazing!
I would say it is quite extensive. You really need to know what you are doing or be working with a strong implementation consultant. If your implementation consultant is not at the top of their game and has a strong knowledge of the system, this will cause issues for you. I would recommend speaking to your Client Support Specialist to see if they have solid recommendations or see if perhaps other clients can offer their insight.

Do you think Cornerstone OnDemand delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cornerstone OnDemand's feature set?

Yes

Did Cornerstone OnDemand live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cornerstone OnDemand go as expected?

No

Would you buy Cornerstone OnDemand again?

Yes

I think Cornerstone Learning is great for larger organizations working to streamline and improve their learning experience. I do find the information available on the success center can be a bit overwhelming for someone new to learning management systems. Thus, some of my direct reports do find it a lot. However, If you have team members who are comfortable with technology and accessing information in this manner it should not be an issue!

Using Cornerstone OnDemand

600 - All levelsof the organization. Sales Reps, Contact centre, finance, IT, etc.
3 -
  • Technical Skills and experience working with similar types of technology.
  • Reporting (understanding how other systems operate is a benefit also knowledge of excel helps and how pivot tables work as the functionality of reporting 2.0 is sort of similar).
  • Research skills - Cornerstone OnDemand is highly robust and customizable, you have to be comfortable with digging into things and testing functionality.
  • We use it for Compliance Training based on regulatory requirements
  • We leverage off the self training content for onDemand eLearning
  • We also use the performance management module which has been helpful in streamling our performance management process
  • Nothing unexpected so far. We have been using the system the way it was intended for Learning and Performance Management
  • We want to dig into the reporting functionality more. The system has robust capabilities, however it is just finding time to use them to our advantage.

So far we have been pleased with the product. It does take some time to get used to. I always recommend being a part of a team that is comfortable with the unknown and being able to explore and find new ways of using the system. There are always new updates and upgrades so it is important to stay on top of this.
ProsCons
Like to use
Well integrated
Feel confident using
Inconsistent
Slow to learn
  • The end user experience is great. Clean and intuitive.
  • Some of the back end features are a bit cumbersome. I think for me working with different technology I had a lot of assumptions about how things should function. Cornerstone seems to do things a bit differently, so you need to unlearn what you know. Dont try to make things work how they worked in other systems you have used. That was my biggest takeaway.
Yes - We don't use it often at our organization (only because we have not had a chance to formally roll it out). It is pretty intuitive for Learning. I looks a bit different from the website. But I would say it does the job and it's not clunky like some other mobile apps I have used in the past.
Yes - The product we used was bought out by another vendor so it was being depricated. We felt forced into using a product we did not purchase. It was a hostile experience. We also wanted an integrated HRIS system and CSOD was the answer. Also, we are a mid-size company and some of the other players wouldn't work with us. So we appreciate CSOD that much more because they don't discriminate.
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
The biggest reason why we went with CSOD over other vendors was that we had resources on our team who knew this product and were comfortable with using it. So the implementation was much more streamlined and the learning curve to get everyone upskilled was minimized as a result of experienced team members.

I can't say I would change the evaluation process. We had team members who have used CSOD and we wanted an integrated system. So it made the most sense to go with CSOD regardless of what evaluation process and selection process we used. OVerall we have been pleased with the product.
I think it is a great product, but sometimes I feel the usability is not great unless you have really strong technical team members.

Cornerstone OnDemand Support

There are great resources and tools available for customers. This is the biggest value you get when working with CSOD. I was actually speaking to a friend the other day who also works in the L&D space and she asked me about the customer experience and I said it is great! I do find there are some delays when logging a ticket with Global Support. The response time is not always consistent and can be slow. but the support they provide is always helpful!
ProsCons
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
No escalation required
Support understands my problem
Support cares about my success
Slow Resolution
Difficult to get immediate help
We have the choice customer package. It provided one on one coaching. We have not used it too much as we are pretty self-sufficient as a team. However, we just did our first session after 1.5 years of having the system to the Rep has been amazing so far. So I would recommend paying extra for this!!
As I mentioned we have the choice customer package. So the rep we met with last week was phenomenal. She took the time to understand our issue. Took detailed notes and sent them to us to ensure she captured our challenged properly and she has scheduled a follow-up to address issues she could not resolve immediately.
