Use Cases and Deployment Scope

[Cornerstone OnDemand] is currently being used in two countries but we are rolling it out to more over time. We use it to track compliance training and production floor training with the Certifications module in Learning. We need it to keep a record of training for audits like ISO and IATF as well as to track general training

Pros and Cons

Uploading and viewing SCORM content is easy
UI is sleek
Curriculum view is great for learning tracks

Certifications are not intuitive and tough to manage
Custom certificates could be easier to customize
Permission settings can be overwhelming
Test Engine is pretty unintuitive to use

Return on Investment

Product Configurability

There are a lot of options and permissions you can configure in Cornerstone. If you have the time to learn the system, you can do a lot with it. It takes at least someone dedicated to the system or better yet a small team to get the most out of the product.

If you use a lot of eLearning content Cornerstone is great. If you do Instructor-Led Training there are a lot of options in set-up but it can be powerful with the right use. The Performance module for goals and performance reviews works well for us as well. If you just need something simple to keep track of learning, Cornerstone may be a bit overwhelming to start with.
