Overall Satisfaction with DB2

DB2 Data Warehouse and OLTP systems. LUW and Z/OS.
  • Bulletproof transaction processing
  • Continuous availability
  • Ease of Administration
  • Excellent throughput
  • Version upgrades require an outage.
  • DPF can scale amazingly well
  • Columnar tables can provide great Warehouse performance
  • The combination of DPF / BLU (Columnar) can REALLY scale!
  • I have supported LARGE projects with Db2 that would have not been able to meet their SLAs (or even keep running) with other RDBMS.
Db2 is really reliable and fast. It can handle really large OLTP throughput and really large data warehouses.

Db2 is VERY well suited for high volume, large scale production OLTP environments. Also, with the DPF feature, it can handle the largest warehouse databases as well.
