Overall Satisfaction with DB2
The project I am currently involved in implies retrieving data from multiple source systems from many companies in order to integrate them into a Corporate Data Warehouse. Some of the companies use systems that have their data stored on DB2, so we need to generate ETL processes against DB2 to obtain the data.
- Reliable and secure.

- Cross platform.
- Lack of modern client tool to connect and query database.
- Reliability.
- Performance.
- It has been in use for transactional (OLTP) systems for many years without requiring too much administration effort.
I did not choose DB2 over any other database engine, the corporation we are currently working for uses all of them for different companies/systems/departments and we need to consolidate data from all of them into a single data warehouse. DB2 is one of the many different data sources we have to work with, and we are able to interact with it without any complication or extra effort.
