Overall Satisfaction with Db2
I mostly work on javascript applications working WebSphere, and the integration of DB2 with both the software is quite easy and effective. We have never faced trouble with this. It is also supported for mainframe programs which give the added benefit that we can do batch processing on the mainframe.
- Easy and user friendly. Secure and productive.
- Easy connection strings via programmatic use and procs.
- Database security, own interface, SPUFI, QMF.
- On a black screen with no GUI, can explicitly go like DB2 visualizer.
- More time required to pull data and time delay.
- Not enough exposure to the product as a lead, need guidance from DBAs at times to learn.
- Costing is too high.
- Easy implementation of DB level operation.
- DB2 database can store huge transactions and can be accessed efficiently.
- Scalability and flexible licensing are major feature of likeness for me.
- Legacy database that has served and continues to serve the enterprise data for a long time to come.
- It is not user friendly when compare to other oracle counterpart.
