Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use it for scheduling staff, for time-clock and for syncing with ADP for payroll.
  • Importing to ADP is great.
  • Scheduling for different jobs (areas) is pretty easy.
  • The unavailability/availability is difficult and cumbersome. It needs to be more intuitive to mark yourself (or someone else) as unavailable for parts of days.
  • At times, doing the schedule it the system will show someone as unavailable or available all day when they are only unavailable part of the day.
  • I'd love to see the ability to put time boundaries on PTO requests as well as unavailability changes.
  • Has cut down on my time doing payroll because of the export timesheets feature.
  • The time-clock feature has been convenient and less cumbersome than other platforms we have tried.
The export feature is MUCH better. I didn't even use it with the others because it was so faulty. Scheduling is pretty handy with Deputy as well. The mobile app is free (so my staff can easily get it) and easy to use and functional.

The unavailability is the one hang-up we have. We often go through the process of making schedules only to find out that Deputy allowed us to schedule someone at a time when they aren't actually available and put that in their availability. It also allows people to alter their availability at any time without approval so that they can change their availability if they just don't want to work next week during a normally scheduled shift. My staff constantly fumbles with entering their unavailability because of the weird way the part-day unavailability works.

I like it for scheduling and importing into ADP.
