Overall Satisfaction with Deputy
Deputy is being used for time tracking for both remote employees & freelancers. It used to sync w/Gusto for payroll, which was great, though that connection has been broken for a year or so and no one can help fix it. Also, I have found the added support of seeing a GPS stamp for where employees clock in and out is extremely helpful. I previously also used it to post messages to my small teams.
- Time tracking.
- GPS stamps.
- Tracking sick leave would be very helpful.
- Allow employees to enter their own schedules (we have flexible hours).
- Huge time saver from where I started out. I could not imagine having to go back to tracking time for hourly employees or freelancers. Plus it's accurate.
I haven't used any others. Prior to Deputy, I tracked in Excel and by trust.

Functionality - I flat out was looking for time tracking a small team with an affordable cost. I needed a system that would integrate w. Gusto for payroll.
Gusto now offers some elements of time tracking, but it does not have GPS stamps (helpful in the past), so I haven't switched over. But I am definitely paying for an extra system now, and [in my opinion] I should probably eliminate Deputy though it's so seamless I haven't wanted to.
Deputy Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - None, just that sometimes spending an hour to implement new software really can be complicated. The time consuming tasks are SOO much easier, efficient, faster, and accurate.
- seriously none

Yes - 100% fine as long as there's a decent internet signal. My employees have no issues with it though I have personally never used it.
