Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We have attempted to use it with all employees. However some employees are unable to function using their personal cell phones and have different issues using the app. It was meant to address issues we were having with our previous software but actually turned out to create a whole new spectrum of issues.
  • Selling their product.
  • The trial period.
  • Sales.
  • Continued location tracking.
  • Allowing employees to see shift notes while clocked in - they currently disappear completely.
  • Easier ways to organize locations and areas.
  • Scheduling should not be so difficult across a large team. Shifts should be able to copy and paste easier and templates should be easier to function within.
  • Checklists should function better and templates easier to create and attach.
  • Notifications need improvement.
We moved from TSheets before they merged with QuickBooks because it was not user friendly. When I did the demo, Deputy seemed like a much more user friendly option, especially from the app however it was just more visually appealing and in fact was not as helpful as Tsheets. [In my experience] system issues were across the board and functionality was underdeveloped.

I have actually had to apologize to my team for picking this software and we will be switching at the end of the year. [In my opinion] it is not user friendly on the app, just seems like it would be because it is more visually appealing that similar software. [I felt that] scheduling across several locations and areas was very difficult and the options for preset schedules were limiting. Overall confusing and drops information when you need it the most.
Poor. I honestly set it up mostly myself however when I would look for assistance I just had customer support send me weblinks to help myself which honestly didn't answer my actual questions. [I feel] they just tried for the easy solution rather than just asking me. Several times I asked about things that I must have been confused about and I thought I had been pretty good about making sure I asked ALL the questions.
I would not recommend it for a service company, a bilingual company, or to really any other company. Even when I was in the restaurant and event business this would not have worked. As an admin/manager I cannot easily fix schedule issues or update from my phone but have to go to a computer and unfortunately the shift note issue of it disappearing as soon as someone clocks in or it is time for the shift is intolerable and we will be switching ASAP.
