Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

I am using it across the whole organisation. Timesheets, shifts and journals. Newsfeed etc.
As the manager I can see who is where in the organisation which is helpful as we have 2 locations. Top level decisions about who can go on leave are addressed avoiding cross over of too many employees on leave concurrently.
  • Shift allocations.
  • Ease for employees to clock on and off.
  • Fairly easy to onboard a new employee.
  • Uploading HR documents.
  • Another level between administrator and supervisor who can still approve actual leave but still no access to pay levels, etc.
  • We have had a lot of hiccups getting Deputy and Xero to talk to each other.
  • It has met the objective of working out who should be getting paid overtime.

Do you think Deputy delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Deputy's feature set?

Yes

Did Deputy live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Deputy go as expected?

No

Would you buy Deputy again?

Yes

I guess I work between the App and the PC and some of the features do not cross over.
Oh and you need a spell check in the newsfeed please.
We had little issues crop up that we had to problem solve or our consultant had to do for us. When copying one week’s schedule to the next,
meal breaks can sometimes disappear, and this has to be manually checked. Sick leave wasn’t an option in the drop down
list – consultant had to fix this for us. Leave accruals didn’t’ show the first week, but
we had provided Deputy with this information. Leave accruals were incorrect, consultant fixed it,
but does this mean we can’t enter this information but has to be fixed behind
the scenes? Sick leave was automatically deducting 8 hrs
instead of 7.6. We had to work that out too. A new discovery was that our one Part Time
employee had been set up different to our F/T employees for leave accruals
which needed a manual entry. We weren’t
aware of this and have discovered her accrual wasn’t being calculated
correctly.
We cannot work out why our casual employee’s
GRIA CAS M-F Before 7 Am shows $40.012 in the pay break down but is calculating
it at $40.6 in the DETAILS ALL section.
One major issue Deputy has is that hourly rates do not match. Example. For our casual it is calculating the rate at 40.012 but when we extract the timesheet it appears as 40.6. Not a huge difference but we can't work out why it doesn't match. The app is pretty good. We were hoping that deputy would read better to Xero. We purchased iPads to support employees without access to steady technology - be aware of the set up here. Most employees are using their phones. We can extract a csv file that shows all hours worked by casuals so this is helpful when making decisions about upcoming shifts.
