Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are two-location organization. Deputy is used within both locations. As a manager, I use Deputy to manage and create employees schedules, to communicate with all or select employees, to manage time-off requests, to help manage payroll, and manage/monitor employee hours. Employees use Deputy to clock in and clock out, to communicate with one another and myself, to swap shifts, to manage their own working hours, and to submit time-off requests/availability.

Pros and Cons

Pros

I LOVE the Dashboard! I login on on my computer and the "Needs Attention", "Needs Approval", and "What's Happening" sections save me. I have a lot to keep track of and to have the ability to see all those things on one page is extremely helpful.
I appreciate how easy it is to manage/create employee schedules over different locations.
Approving timesheets! With a simple "Approve All" click, my timesheets are ready to be exported to payroll. It has saved me a lot of time.

Cons

Easy way to "Approve All" timesheets through Deputy app.
Copying shifts. Often times I get a red error triangle and the shifts do not copy properly. Maybe an option to disable this or disable certain types of warnings.
Have had issues with employees clocking in when they are at a different location. Would like an easier/more user friendly way for employees to do this. Maybe there is already a way, but I have struggled with it.

Return on Investment

Deputy has improved payroll accuracy. I no longer have to manually double check/input anything I can just export it all from Deputy!
Deputy has saved roughly $30,000 - $40,000 that would have been paid to another employee as a salary. Instead of having to add another employee to handle payroll and scheduling, it has added on to the tasks of current employees as it is simplified using Deputy.
Deputy has streamlined employee scheduling - this has saved countless hours and energy.

Usability

Deputy allows me to create employee schedules, to communicate with the employees, allows me to manage payroll, allows me to monitor/comply with labor laws effectively and efficiently. Deputy allows employees to easily view/be notified of upcoming shifts, allows employees to easily swap shifts, and allows employees to request/manage time off effectively and efficiently.

Implementation Rating

Implementing Deputy was a simple and streamlined process. To add a single person (employee), you click a button, type in a few fields of information, and add the employee. The employee is sent an email with a Deputy invitation where they can create their login and pin. They then use that pin to clock-in and out. Make sure you have downloaded or have the Deputy kiosk app available and ready because there are two different Deputy apps - the regular app then the kiosk for clocking in/out.

Likelihood to Recommend

Deputy is well suited for businesses with multiple employees who are paid by the hour and have set weekly schedules created by 1 person. It is a great system for employees to submit leave and swap shifts.

I believe it is less appropriate for salaried employees who do not have specific clock in/clock out times, or employees who make their own schedules.
