Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use it across 4 of our businesses. Great for rostering, scheduling, noticeboard, staff messaging. I bought it on the understanding it had live hourly wage costs. It doesn’t. I have wasted 2 years waiting for staff to reply on email to my requests for getting this view. After about 4 weeks of waiting someone says they have my request and will get back to me. I am now looking for a different solution that has this view. Live wage costing is the most important view to running a viable business. The scheduling rest is just fluff that give staff more time to spend in the office.

I went with Deputy because the sales guy was very good. Turns out too good. He moved me away from Tanda who also did not have live hourly wage costings. Said it would work once my POS company put the sales file into a cloud file every 15 minutes. I spent 50k changing POS companies to get this in place then I just got excuse after excuse. Now 2 years later I am still waiting for the live hourly wage view. The sales guy has since left the company.

It is good but could be wayyyyyy better if it helped business owners run “profitably.” Wage management should be its sole focus, not just time management.
The implementation was surprisingly easy. They just unfortunately didn’t live up to their promise. The biggest gotcha is the lack of live hourly wage costings. Budgeting and forecasting is all well and good but daily management is the key. Then you need to review your forecast against your actual. the owner needs to see a summary view of which managers are effective schedulers i.e. get the forecast and actual close.
