Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

Deputy is used within our Sales group to schedule both full-time and part-time sales staff across our sales offices. It addresses the challenges associated with balancing the appropriate level of staffing across offices. Additionally, it enables tracking of vacation requests to ensure availability when scheduling. Also, it makes it easy for our sales staff to see their schedule and adjust their availability.
  • WYSISYG Schedule Interface for assigning staff.
  • Account for vacation requests.
  • Notify staff of their schedules.
  • Customizable reporting.
  • The ability to combine schedules across different sites and print in a seamless format.
  • The options for delivering schedules to staff (i.e. visibility across entire schedules not just their shifts).
  • It has saved time on scheduling staff.
  • It has improved the accuracy of shift knowledge among staff and reduced missed shifts.
  • We don't use any payroll related components but it could feasibly be used to track time worked for payroll purposes.
We migrated to Deputy from an in-house built solution which had become cumbersome to manage. In comparison, Deputy worked well and required no maintenance. It's cloud-based structure works well for our staff and means that our IT group doesn't need to provide any support to the Sales group in managing and deploying the software.

Did implementation of Deputy go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Deputy again?

Yes

Deputy was pretty easy to implement and was quickly adopted by both our administrative staff and end-users. In general, user feedback has been positive with both older and younger staff being able to adapt to it easily. This hasn't traditionally been the case with new software and it speaks to the ease of use of Deputy.
We implemented Deputy a number of years ago so the platform has shifted since then. In general though, the implementation was pretty easy and mostly handled by sales administration staff without the need for much additional support. Deputy's support team was also helpful and responsive when we did encounter issues.
Deputy is well suited for scheduling shift-based positions with both part and full-time staff. In our case, there aren't specializations or skills associated with roles and/or their assigned shifts so I can't speak to how Deputy would work in these scenarios.

It's less appropriate for scenarios where you want the system to automatically schedule based on inputted knowledge.
