Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

My company uses Deputy as our primary timeclock and scheduler interface. Since we implemented it, we have seen a vast improvement in timeclock accuracy amongst employees. Employees have online access to their schedule and any changes, and can review their own timesheets throughout the week. Making corrections to timesheets for payroll used to be a two hour process as the payroll administrator would have to track people down to fix missed punches. Now it works the other way around, with employees notifying the payroll admin of any issues, and payroll takes about 10 minutes. The report functionality of Deputy is also enormously valuable, as we are able to see a direct comparison between labor spending and sales with the POS integration. Before we would have had to export the necessary data to manually create our own report.
  • Scheduling.
  • Timesheets.
  • Labor cost tracking.
  • Sharing information with employees.
  • Giving employees more control and responsibility.
  • More HR integration.
  • More user levels between Supervisor and Location Manager/Sys Admin.
  • Less clunky user interface on the Kiosk screen.
  • Time saved on creating schedule.
  • Time saved on processing payroll.
  • Time saved on reviewing reports to figure out labor cost.
  • Greater accuracy on labor cost reporting.
  • Real-time and forecasted leave balances.
For an equivalent cost, Deputy blows TimeClock Plus out of the water. I have never used a version of TimeClock Plus that didn't seem like a shiny holdover from Windows XP, and there were always so many limitations on how the program could be used between multiple users. Deputy feels like the TimeClock solution from this century.

Did implementation of Deputy go as expected?

Would you buy Deputy again?

It's so easy to use and the Helpful Hub is actually helpful. Even my less technologically inclined coworkers were able to figure out many features on their own, before they were even trained. Our scheduling person used to do everything by Excel because the previous program we used was too complicated to use. Once we switched to Deputy, the same person was able to figure out most of the scheduling features without needing any help.
I loved that one of first steps in implementation included help with data entry. Data entry is usually the worst part about implementation, because if you forget one step, you can mess up the entire process. Also, because it's boring. I liked that Deputy provided us with an Excel template, and then imported the data for us. I enjoyed working with our Customer Success Manager, who was very knowledgeable and helpful in troubleshooting any problems we had. Deputy made it very easy for us to make the switch to their program.
I would and have recommended Deputy to every person I know who works in an office setting, for any small business industry. The amount of control and automation Deputy offers is vastly superior to other timeclock and scheduling programs. Since switching to Deputy, I have saved HOURS of work on processing payroll. The ability to have a single digital source for easy, company-wide communication has been a great additional benefit.

  • Creating schedules.

  • Scrolling down on the Kiosk screen to select a user name.
Yes - The mobile interface works great, though there are still some functions that are easier to use on a desktop screen. In particular, it is more difficult to approve PTO requests on the mobile app.
