Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We currently use Deputy at our largest location. We use it for scheduling, messaging and payroll export. It makes running payroll much easier since I can import the hours into our payroll company website and saves time with data entry and human error with that data entry. It provides a platform that management can send out mass messages or targeted ones. Employees can view their schedule, send messages and swap shifts with other employees as well. It has features for the management to see labor costs and percentages.
  • Shift scheduling.
  • Location based clock-in.
  • Displaying shifts and hours.
  • When changes are made to the website, it can be difficult to adjust to.
  • Adding employee pay rates and different rates of pay has become more confusing.
  • Export of hours has been affected with the new changes to entering pay rates and OT hours are exporting as regular. Needing to manually change to OT in payroll.
  • This definitely saves time with manually entering hours.
  • Hours are more accurate with location based clock-ins.
  • When everything is right payroll is run in less than 15 minutes.
I had issues with 7shifts when trying them for a different company. Deputy is more user friendly.

Do you think Deputy delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Deputy's feature set?

Yes

Did Deputy live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Deputy go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Deputy again?

Yes

Bug fixes, new things in beta mode and changes can be problematic. I usually can resolve them in the chat or by learning the new functionality myself but it can be confusing. When I have it down pat, it is great and those payroll weeks are a 10.
Implementation was easy using training tools provided and customer support.
The Deputy platform is overall good. For accurate timekeeping and scheduling and messaging with larger companies, it is appropriate.
For companies with few employees, it may not really be worth it.

Using Deputy

70 - General management, office staff and employees. Management uses for scheduling, messaging and time card review. Employees swap shifts, message, view schedule, clock in/out. Office staff exports payroll and imports into payroll company website to process.
2 - I and the general manager of the location are the most involved in the use of Deputy features.
  • Saves time.
  • Hours are accurate.
  • Communication between management and employees.
  • Fine tuning forecasting of labor.
I would renew because I am familiar with it and can navigate it and when everything is right it is so easy to use and saves time. Also, it is a company that has an integration with our payroll company, ADP. Because I use it for this purpose, I am limited in my choices of this type of software but I do like it overall anyway. Management finds it easy to use and changing things and relearning new platforms for no reason is a waste of time when Deputy works just fine. Also, I know there are more capabilities within Deputy that we haven't even tried to use and with time, we can utilize those.
