Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight
We use DraftSight to create power and control system schematic, single line, and configuration drawings as "shop drawings" for projects and as "record" drawings for future modifications and maintenance. We share PDF and paper copies of drawings to our customers for their use in operations and maintenance.
- Opens DWG drawing files created by others and is more lightweight than TrueView
- Interface is easy to learn and to use
- Tabbed drawing are very helpful
- Process for adding tools to toolbars is not very intuitive
- Easily and quickly produce shop drawing.
- User interface is well designed and intuitive.
- Native DWG allows us to collaborate and share with users using industry-standard packages.
- Subscription is better value than our previous licenses of AutoDesk.
- Not having [a] "floating" license makes it difficult to use the product onsite on [a] laptop without requiring a second license. Onsite use is primarily view only and we use another viewer product.
Have used AutoCadLT, and find DraftSight to be just as useful and powerful at a better price point. Have used DWG TrueView but DraftSight loads faster and uses [fewer] resources. We have tried using LibreCAD but [are] not satisfied with [the] functionality and rendering of existing DWG.

Used the previous "free" version and it replaced our use of AutoCad LT.
