Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

Dropbox is used throughout multiple departments to share internal and external documents. The organization is split into different business units, so I can only speak to as how the marketing department uses it. It addresses the issue of sharing files and folders with clients that would normally need to be emailed with multiple emails.
  • Dropbox is extremely user-friendly. The drag and drop interface is very easy to use and the user experience is superb.
  • The "how to" guide when someone first uses the application is helpful.
  • Being able to download a desktop integration is definitely a strength.
  • I think the sharing option could be expanded upon - maybe the sharing link is autogenerated and copied to the clipboard.
  • Downloading the desktop version could be streamlined.
  • Dropbox has simplified sharing our large print files with our print vendors - therefore speeding up production, having a positive impact on our department.
  • Being able to share documents when not in the office has helped productivity.
The interface is extremely easy to navigate due to the clean layout and simplified design. The drag and drop dashboard is used throughout other applications so users will have an easy time using Dropbox for the first time. Uploading files or folders is a breeze with the touch of a button. The search functionality works properly and makes finding a specific file rather simple.
In the past 10 years I have been using Dropbox, I have not had to contact customer support. Throughout their many layout and functionality changes, they've kept the interface as easy to navigate as possible.
I've used Google Drive before and although it is convenient to use, I enjoy having a completely separate Dropbox account specifically for my current company's files. With Google, you need to sign into your Google account and sometimes I'll be signed into my personal gmail account and keeping all of the logins and files separate can be a headache. That's why I enjoy using a completely separate application for work files.
Dropbox is well suited for schools, businesses that have file storage issues or are unable to include larger attachments in their email. The free version is less appropriate when dealing with extremely large files such as video or music. Using the paid version is appropriate in basically any situation in my opinion.
