Overall Satisfaction with Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

As we migrate more data to M365, we were conscious that native M365 lacked the backup and restore capability of our classic file storage systems. We wished to replicate our on-premises restore facilities, both to enable restore of a file after deletion and removal from the M365 recycle bins, and also as a secondary repository for Druva Data Resiliency Cloud purposes in the unlikely event of any failure at a Microsoft datacentre.
  • User Self-Restore
  • User Management
  • Automatic onboarding of data
  • When SharePoint sites are deleted, these show up on the dashboard as failures
  • Some backup failures each day when backing up huge datasets
  • At the moment, it is an extra cost, but once we have fully migrated we should be able to remove existing tape library infrastructure
Office 365 - backs up OneDrive and Exchange which are able to be restored by end-users. Also Teams, SharePoint and Groups for Admin-only restore
We haven't fully migrated yet so yet to see what it looks like at PB scale, but it's coping very well so far.

I can only vouch for the use of my organisation, but for a large organisation it's very easy to set Druva Data Resiliency Cloud so it backs up any new content automatically. The user self-service portal is also very simple and intuitive to use.

Using Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

10000 - 10,000 End Users able to access self-service portal 6 Administrators for restoration of share resources and management of the product.
6 - General M365/Senior Helpdesk staff
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Administrative restore of SPO Data
  • End-user restore of ExO/OneDrive Data
The product does what we need it to, at a price that we can afford at the moment. The licence includes some room for us to grow, but a full migration might require the purchase of extra licence.

Evaluating Druva Data Resiliency Cloud and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
Ultimately the price for capacity provided was the key factor in our decision, but what really put Driva InSync ahead of the competition was the simplicity and ease-of-use of the user self-restore portal
I would perhaps pay more attention to licence pricing for extra capacity above the standard 50GB per user allowance, as this may not be enough for us in future.

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud Implementation

Change management was minimal
It all went as expected - we were putting the system in from new rather than replacing an existing system which reduced complexity massively.

We did. This was a management decision above me, but the support has been excellent.
Not a particular time, but I am very impressed with the support provided. I have mentioned to colleagues that it's probably the best user support I've had from a company. Quick responses, straight to the right person. We also have regular meetings with the customer success team which are happy to take our ideas and suggestions on board.
Faultless support so far.

Using Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

ProsCons

Technical support not required
Well integrated

  • Self-restore for users
  • Profiles, to add different backup settings to different groups
  • Administrative restores
  • Download of data
  • The initial SCIM setup was a faff, but we were ably assisted by technical support
  • Addition of shared mailboxes
Very intuitive - generally things are where you expect them to be and work as you'd expect them to work. I think if you had more modules than just the Office 365 module it could get slightly more complicated due to scale, but this is not an issue for us.
